The rider of Minsk Cycling Club Yauheni Karaliok got a victory and two medal places at the stages of Sochi cycling race, which was held on April 13-17.

Belarus was represented at the 67th Sochi stage cycling race by the national team, which included three riders of Minsk Cycling Club Yauheni Karaliok, Vasili Strokau and Mikita Siamashka. Our sportsmen in Sochi were accompanied by Zakhar Kaminski, Tsikhan Shchamialeu, Kirill Kovalev and Pavel Turchanka.

The competition brought together more than a hundred riders from Russian regions. The Belarusians did not participate in Sochi stage race as extras.

In the prologue, the best of the Belarusians was Strokau, who showed the 9th result. And already at the second stage, Yauheni Karaliok was in all his glory, having won the mass sprint at the finish of 158.4 km distance.

After that, the sprinter of the Belarusian national team was under close attention of his rivals, but this did not prevent him from podiuming twice more. At the 3rd stage (144 km) Karaliok finished second, and at the fourth (93.5 km) he was third.

Another podium for Belarus could bring Vasili Strokau, who at the final fifth stage (105 km) stopped a step away from the medal - fourth place.

In the top 10 of the general classification of Sochi stage race, Yauheni Karaliok finished 6th (22 seconds behind the winner Sergey Firsanov) and Vasili Strokau - 10th (1:06).
